What's inside

Inside the download. What it covers, section by section.

01. Candidate details and selling style

Start with name and date, then three opening questions: what makes them stand out, how they'd keep a pipeline full in this role, and how they describe their selling style.

02. Motivation and buying cycle

Ask what gets them out of bed and tick what drives them: career advancement, money, success, company or other. The TV purchase question exposes a high buy cycle.

03. Goals, challenges and self-awareness

Capture personal and professional goals, biggest achievements over five to ten years, a recent challenge overcome, plus the strengths and weaknesses a former manager, friends and family would name.

04. A real deal, start to finish

Have them walk through a recent client conversation that led to a sale, including how they uncovered the budget and closed it, then what work environment and management style they thrive in.

05. Sales process self-rating

They list the steps of the process they follow and score themselves out of ten, then mark strongest and weakest across prospecting, needs analysis, presentation, objection handling, closing and follow up.

06. Two scored role plays

A situational selling or pen test section with space to score two role plays: introduction, rapport, questioning, objection handling and trial close, then presentation, close and how they take feedback.

Frequently asked questions

Common Questions

The template gives the questions in order, starting with what makes them stand out for this role and how they would keep a pipeline full if they got it.

Ask how they describe their own selling style and what actually motivates them - career advancement, money, or something else - rather than asking whether they are motivated.

Yes. It is a blank template to run per candidate, with space for the candidate name and date so interviews stay comparable.
